As usual Claudia Cain does not disappoint! At this point I’ll read anything by them and know it’s going to be fantastic. I’m so picky with vampire novels because they’re either really good or really bad but this one is definitely in the really good camp. As soon as I finished it I immediately wanted to read the next, I became invested in the characters and the world Cain built!

When I saw this was by a Montreal author I knew I had to get it and I’m so glad I did because it was so good! Some parts had me actually shuddering as I was reading it, there’s some disturbing scenes depicted. And I loved it of course! My only minor complaint was the ending, it left me wanting a bit more.

I put off reading this for so long because I just didn’t think it could compare to Priory. And I was SO wrong because it was even BETTER! Shannon has such a way with world building, they instantly suck you in and make you feel like a part of the story and it’s such a delicious feeling. And you know, anything with dragons is always a win!

I fucking love Chuck Wendig and I fucking LOVE this book! I think it might actually be my favourite by him. It’s just so bloody fucking GOOD. It’s eerie and creepy and then when it all starts to come together and the pieces click it’s just MIND BLOWING.

The Warren’s and their story has always absolutely fascinated me and I’m glad I finally got around to reading more about them. Still not sure I believe it wholly but doesn’t make it any less interesting! Loved the audio version, made great road trip company.

This was disgusting and disturbing in the BEST way possible. From start to finish I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see what horrifying, nasty shit would happen next and there’s nothing I love more than that feeling when reading horror. Definitely can’t wait to read more from this author!

I don’t even know where to start with this book because it was so bloody brilliant. It’s the second Kingfisher I read and it definitely won’t be the last because their work is just phenomenal. The world they build in such a short time is mind blowing and I cannot recommend this story highly enough!

Another instance of letting a book sit on my shelves unread for years and kicking myself when I finally pick it up because it’s so FUCKING GOOD. I was instantly drawn in and couldn’t turn the pages fast enough. Legitimately horrifying at some parts and I always love feeling sick to my stomach when reading. That’s a sign of a damn fine horror novel for me!

While I do tend to prefer Rule’s longer stories, I did quite enjoy this collection. Her writing never fails to capture me and draw me in even after reading dozens of her stories!
