This one was leagues above the first one! Though it’s technically a little shorter, the pace of the story was slower and I felt we connected with the characters much better. I like their personalities and how they mixed together, made the spicy scene great as well. There was a good focus on them just talking to each other, bonding in different ways, and that also made the spicy scene more enjoyable.

Great writing! Short, sweet, exciting, and intriguing!

Sexy, exciting, and sweet. Millie and Thran are great characters, and I enjoyed being able to get to know them. The spice was delightfully spicy. I feel with the longer book. It could’ve been even better. I especially liked the description of Thran’s species and all the differences from humans, a very sexy alien indeed.

I quite enjoyed this quick read! I’ve liked the others in this series as well, but it’s hard to tell how things will go when the author changes… but thankfully Nancy Cummings is very good at what she does.

From the very beginning Alice was a clearly likable character, very funny and relatable. The kind of lady I’d want to be friends with. I was pulled into the story easily just seeing things from her point of view. Faris makes for a good ml, he’s smart and occasionally funny and very protective of Alice. I also enjoyed his interactions with his friend/partner Perrigaul, they work together well and play off of each other nicely.

This was written so well, at the perfect pace and with the right amount of bonding time and romance outside of their sexual attraction. The spice was also written extremely well, I really enjoyed it.

This is my third time trying to read something from this author, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I just don’t enjoy their work. The characters are bland, completely without depth, and the writing is robotic and boring.

Interesting world. I enjoyed the main characters a lot. The mystery and action were well written. Spice fell a little flat in some places… but it was fine for the most part.

One of the best in this series. The liked the leads a lot and the way their romance unfolded. I felt like I really knew them before they even started to get to know each other and that made it really easy to care about their romance.

The action and plot of this book was great as well, exciting to how it all unfolds. The ending was nice, seeing all the lords and ladies together finally. Also made me excited for the next book!

There is literally nothing better than this extended series… I just love this world Ruby has created. So when I see that she’s EXPANDED upon it again… I love every moment of it.

Rosalind is a believable and relatable lead, she’s kinda scared and stands up for herself but also has moments of doubt and depression. I appreciate being able to see that range of emotion from her. She adds just a perfect bit of flavor to the cast and suits R’jaal perfectly. Her going through the transition of her new reality, accepting things about the world and herself, was beautiful to witness. This is one of the deeper stories in this extended universe, specifically for the female lead, and I loved it.

R’jaal is happy basically the entire book and I couldn’t get enough of his joy. After waiting for SOOO long to finally have a mate, Rosalind is perfect for him and he knows it immediately. When I first read the teaser in Flor’s book I knew I was going to adore these two and I did. We also get to see an expansion of R’jaal’s character while he deals with what he can do to make his mate happy which was enjoyable. I liked his musing the most probably.

The spice was HOT every time! It was sooo perfect! Even though there wasn’t a lot of build up to their first sexual encounter, we also spend a good amount of time really getting to know them and how they feel so it’s extremely easy to get into their romance and spicy scenes. I need to know a character before I can read spice, I need to care about them as people, and since we already basically knew R’jaal from previous books, the time was spent really getting to know Rosalind. She’s such a nerd, an adorable nerd, which I believe helped as lots of readers will be able to connect with her very quickly.

Oh my god, the world building!!! That’s my favorite part to be honest. I just love when we learn more about this planet and the universe. Ruby really set us up to keep learning with the following books and made it all so interesting so I simply can’t resist them. I’ll be waiting very impatiently to learn more.

Little note about Tia, she was great in this book and for the first time I really felt for her. She had her moments to shine and that made me excited for her story as well.

Great introduction into this spin off with plenty of callbacks to the previous series which made it a very comforting read. It follows the same “fated mates” formula that was in the previous Drix books, and while it’s all very predictable, it’s just comforting to see a story line where I know things are going to be good and sweet in the end.

The dynamic between the leads and wonderful and I adore every single one of their interactions. I especially adore Tasha before she trusts Kent as she’s such a feisty character but also extremely clever. She cares deeply for her friends and it shows all through the book.

I also really like the brief showing of the other female leads to come, they all seem interesting and I’m looking forward to learning more about them with their books. That’s one thing this author does really well, she sets up characters for future books on ways that make you CRAVE their books as well. I’ve noticed that I enjoy books more when I’ve seen a lot with the character in the previous books. The most we know about them the more I care about them.
