A Christmas classic that I've watched many times, but never read. And I am better to have read it! While I don't believe I need to be more generous with my definitely real store of riches, this short book provided an interesting look into the London of Dicken's day.

Dicken's prose is very interesting and very different from modern writing. He uses repetition often, not to hammer in a point, but rather in ann effort enliven characters and form inhabitable environments. However, the scene structure seemed to repeat itself unnecessarily within each journey with a ghost. Curious how readers of past eras appreciated slow description more than our technological world. Curious coincidence.

Overall, it was not the most engaging read, but was still worth reading because its Dickens and a classic.

I loved this story from movies and why I havnt read this sooner considering how easy-read it was and short is beyond me! Its beautifully written and shows the real meaning of Christmas in such a perfect way and how we really should be kinder to everyone around us= A fantastic way to end the reading-year on!

Fun read for the holiday, though it can be difficult to get through because of the older language. Not a huge deal in the end, and I found myself really enjoying the supernatural horror elements present in the book that you don't always see in movie adaptations.

A classic, heat-warming tale. Dicken's voice can be heard narrating, and the characters are brought to life by his magic.

Quick read and quite funny - wasn’t expecting dickens to have such funny prose w so much character in it. Had always assumed the book would be a very somber affair.
I liked it a lot. Definitely showed its age but at the same time very good at painting pictures and getting a laugh. Fun read for Christmas time:)
