Where do I even begin? You guys know I’m not a fan of writing ranty reviews. Books, to me, are never bad, just not my taste. I think this book might have been bad. I disliked every second of reading this.
Why was this series ever 4 books? The story was so long and stretched out, I forgot half of the characters and I never really cared about the other half to begin with. This book was almost 700 pages! AND NOTHING OF VALUE HAPPENED.
I’m not even going to comment on the ending of the book. Let’s just say it was awful. I have no issues with Aveyard’s writing, she did an amazing job on Red Queen and it will remain one of the best books, but War Storm was just a mess. There was no character development that made sense, the worldbuilding was just awful and there was so much waffle I could have added some cream and had dessert.
There are some people out there who enjoy this book, and that’s completely fine. I, on the other hand, am so f*&king relieved that it’s finally over.

I love this book. Usually, I’m not a fan of romance. I read very little contemporary romance, but historical romance is right up my alley for some reason. I don’t read a lot of it, but this one captured my attention and I just knew I had to read it.
This one is a fluffy romance, not usually my thing (no chick flick moments thanks) but I enjoyed it. It was a nice change of pace for me. Rogue Most Wanted was beautifully written, the characters are fleshed out and the plot moves along at a great pace.
The writing and the scenes are beautiful and filled with emotion. I mean this book even made me feel something, and I have no soul. The only thing that bothered me about the book is the misunderstandings that ensue from a lack of communication. It’s one of my most hated plot devices, but I could live with this one.

I can honestly say that this book left me a bit speechless. It took me a few days to sort through my thoughts and put them into coherent sentences. Let's jump right in, I enjoyed this book. It was a solid first part of a larger story. However, it started off a little slow, I was already 50% into the book and still sort of waiting for it to start. I was expecting a different story from the blurb and kept waiting for that story to start.
Once the story did start, I actually found myself enjoying it immensely. A Shifting of Stars has lots of twists and turns and has the makings of a great fantasy story. Kimbray's writing is fluid and easy to follow and it makes the story easy to follow.
I do have some issues with the worldbuilding and the magic system. I wasn't entirely orientated in the world, the book sorta just throws you in. There should have been more history included about the world and how the world works. The same goes for the magic system. Magic is only introduced 70% into the book, and not much was said about how it works or the rules.
Books don't always need to explain everything in terms of magic and worldbuilding, but when you're creating something new you need to give your readers something. That being said, the story is incredible. It's unique and new and I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
