2k to 10k: Writing Faster, Writing Better, and Writing More of What You Love by Rachel Aaron

Insanely helpful. Obviously, the tactic of fast writing is supposed to be the main part but I appreciated the other tips just as much, if not even more. The whole book felt like I was listening to an aunt telling me everything I need to know.

“If you know someone's fear, you know them.”
The majority of the story was so basic, I'd think of course every time there was a twist. The main heroine was a) so dumb omg and b) her inner monologue was sooo repetitive. However, the simpler prose was - despite the very obvious overuse of italics lol -  fast to read and throughout the book, I saw the potential of the author. Also, the main twist at the end managed to surprise me, so that's nice I guess

Probably the weakest WA book, it dragged for so long...

"You posses te complete and utter audacity of trusting yourself that you are capable of learning anything but never everything."
Once again, such a lovely, whimsical read. It was a bit weaker than the first book but there was still that beautiful atmosphere. Also the Halloween ball? Excellent, I loved every second.

“You are a little heartless today, aren't you?"
"Never," I say. "There are seventeen under my bed.”
I was so hyped for this book because of the vibes, but it was all just so... meh. It wasn't terrible but I wouldn't bother again.

“Must be nice. To be able to be weak. I wouldn’t know.”
This book managed to pleasantly surprise me and disappoint me at the same time. TJR is such a good writer, I had goosebumps many times while reading, simply from individual sentences. But that's the thing - I feel like the writing was so dramatic that I came to expect something quite different from the story. The story itself is lovely and - just like Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo - so real, but I couldn't help but want something more. But it was such a good read anyway!

“You may not be able to change the past, but with each action, you can change the future.”
I had high hopes, and I was left disappointed...kind of? It's a pretty average fantasy (always fun), and I liked the inspiration from Asian myths and how the relationship between the characters unfolded. The relationships (not just the main one, that one felt a little flat) were the most fun part of the book. The ending was perfect until there was an unexplained plot point that made everything too good and sweet in my opinion.
I still don't understand why did Ahn survive? Not only from the logical view but also from a storytelling perspective. I was so ready to cry my heart out over her sacrifice but then she was just??? Fine??? lol

Overall it's a nice fantasy, nothing less, not much more.

“I hate to lend a book I love…it never seems quite the same when it comes back to me…”
The weakest book in the series yet. I think mainly because there are almost no old characters and Anne herself seemed to be reacting to the people around her, rather than doing anything herself. It was still lovely though, even despite the scandalous lack of Gilbert and Marilla.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 55%.
I wanted to love this book so bad, but alas... The main character was annoying, the villain was predictable, and the story felt unexciting. The plot points seemed so random. There were bright moments, but I simply didn't care about the plot or the characters nearly enough to continue reading.
