This book is so so so beautifully written. It's also incredibly , debilitatingly sad. I thought I knew what I was getting into reading this because I'd read about the Gwangju uprising before, but the descriptions of the horrors in this book are so raw and real that it leaves you breathless. I'll be thinking about this for a long while.
