What a perfect book to start off 2025 with! I’ve waited to read it because I was terrified I wouldn’t like it but it was absolute perfection. Everything I hoped and dreamed it would be and MORE. It took me longer to read than a book of this length normally does not because it was hard to read but because I kept taking breaks because it was so perfect I almost couldn’t bear the thought that it would eventually be over. Schwab absolutely nails it yet again with this one.

This was such a disappointment for me after how much I loved Tender is the Flesh. There was one story in the collection I really enjoyed but the others just fell flat for me. I wanted and expected SO much more from this collection of stories!

There’s just so much hype around this one and it fell so flat for me. So many people have said it’s terrifying and incredibly scary and I didn’t even feel the slightest shimmer of fear. So disappointed by this one!

I was so excited for this one and it ended up just not being the book for me, I struggled SO HARD to even finish it.

Reading is not against life. It IS life. By far my favourite quote from this book! I wish it was more widely known or more widely available because all readers should read this.
