This is my second time reading this book. Definitel a foundational text in American death studies, but not necessarily my favorite.

An interesting interdisciplinary approach to immigration history on the U.S.-Mexico border! I would probably not read it in its entirety again, but I would assign parts of it for a history class.

Very informative, but also dense. I can see why this is a foundational text, but I probably won't want to read this in its entirety again.

The audiobook was narrated by the author! Very powerful to physically hear the author tell her own story.

Wonderfully work, but I will definitely have to read this two or three times before I fully process everything... great theoretical work and a great addition to this field of study

This was my second time reading this book. I had watched many of C.D.'s YouTube videos before, but this book really challenged some of the ways that I think about death care in a global sense... I would recommend this book to anyone- C.D. does an excellent job of making a difficult topic such as this palatable for all audiences.
