I loved this book a lot. I loved Bridget and Rhys both separately and together and I loved the plot and the drama and the side characters and ugh this is probably one of my favourite romance books I've ever read! My only criticisms are that I noticed some phrases were used a little too much and it got repetitive. Also in part 1 of the book, I feel like 2 years went wayyy too fast so the progress of B and R's relationship seemed a little unrealistic at times.
This volume was definitely the saddest of them all. It dealt with Charlie’s mental health in an extremely realistic way and definitely gave me an insight on what it’s like to live with an eating disorder. Everything in this book was realistic from Nick’s reaction to Charlie’s eating disorder, the arguments and disagreements within the Nelson and Spring households, what it’s like on a psychiatric ward, therapy and so much more. I feel like this is an extremely important and informative read. I love Nick’s mum and Tori (Charlie’s sister) so so much. They really made this story. I can’t wait so see where the story goes next in volume 5.
My favourite so far! I loved seeing all of the gang together in Paris and learning more about all of Nick and Charlie’s friends. I love that Nick starts to feel more comfortable with himself here and his coming out scene at the end made me so happy and proud. This book also dealt with the topic of eating disorders in an extremely realistic way. I loooved the teacher story line! They were so cute oh my.
I looove these characters so much. Nick’s coming out scene made me cry so much, I love his mum. I enjoyed reading more about Tara and Darcy’s story too! I hate Harry so much but this book handled the subject of homophobia really well.
Finally reading these! I’ve never read a graphic novel before so I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about them but I really enjoyed it. The illustrations were so cute and it told the story really well! I love Nick and Charlie so much and they’re perfect examples of having an awkward teenage crush. These books have SO much LGBTQ+ representation. Really quick and enjoyable read!
I loooved this so much. I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately and this has definitely pulled me out of it. I love both of the main characters and the side characters were great too. The plot was fun and progressed at a good pace, and there were some darker topics that were written really well. Will definitely pick up another book from Abby Jimenez!
I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first one. I loved the characters, the plot was way more interesting and the ending of the book was great! I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
Best book in the series so far! I read this one 3rd as I felt it was the best place to take a break from the actual story and Crown of Midnight didn’t end on a cliffhanger. I loved seeing Calaena and Sam’s relationship progress and each part of this book was so fun to read! I loved all the side characters and this book made me love Calaena even more. I feel like we didn’t get enough time with Sam, I loved him so much and his death made me so so sad.
After reading the acotar series, I can tell this book is a little more YA but I still really enjoyed it. The plot felt a little slow in the middle chunk of the book but I loved the main characters. I love Calaena. I think I have a lot more to learn about her backstory but I can tell she’s going to be a great main character. I also loved Dorian and Chaol and I’m hoping I’ll soon find out more about their backstory. The history of the world and the magic is a little unclear at the moment but I know that it’s intentional and I’m in for a looong ride with this series. Picking up the next book right now!
