It was… ok. I wish there was more… just more. It felt short and quick but still a little hard to get through, like I was getting bored. I appreciate the world building and I’ve always loved Naomi Lucas’s writing style, so that was still on point. The sex was underwhelming, I wanted more. Kaos is a fun lead, I love me a grumpy guy that ultimately comes around, but Issa left much to be desired.

I’ll be reading the next one and I think I’ll enjoy it more because I really like Aida’s character in this book so having her as the lead will be fun. Hopefully her male counterpart is interesting as well.

It feels very new, especially with the way the main character speaks, but that only bothered me a little. As I was a massive Twilight fan in my youth (I’m 27 now) I was looking forward to a similar concept with the vampire romance. This one didn’t add up the Twilight for me personally… and that’s mainly because it just didn’t feel very serious, more joking and playful writing. What saved the book for me and what is making me want to read the next one is Jaxon, just a great male lead, as well as when things actually start getting serious over half way through the book. I won’t spoil what happens, but it was actually really interesting and I’m looking forward to seeing things continued in the next one.

I didn’t hate it and it wasn’t bad for what it was… it just bored me. No real story, just sex mostly. The characters were interesting, there wasn’t any world building or lore, and no tension. It was also rather short.

If you’re looking for straight up sex, then this is your kind of read. If you want anything else, skip it.
