Good intro into the world and I’m glad I read this before the first book, things make more sense that way.

As an avid reader, I don’t just indulge in regular published works but also fan fiction of many different movies and books and shows. One type in particular I love exploring are the stories about Snape from Harry Potter, especially original character romances. This book really reminded me of a twisted version of those stories because Grael reads as Snape does to me. Black eyes and hair, cold demeanor, anti social, deep voice, it all lends to the image I have in my head when I read about Snape. This probably wasn’t intended, but it’s just something I picked up on and actually made this book far more enjoyable than the first. Not that Savair wasn’t a good lead, but he was more mid range for my taste while Grael checks all my boxes.

Lexi is also a wonderful leading lady. Smart and kind, truly empathetic, and open to new information and change. I can read through her very easily and immerse myself in the story without being bored from her character. She offers insight into things that make her more interesting to me so she isn’t just a female filler of a character.

Their relationship is enjoyable as it feels like they compliment each other and better each other. Lexi is there to teach Grael how to communicate and open up to others, while Grael awakens desire and strength inside of her. They both don’t think they deserve the other but can’t help the feelings they have. Honesty is also extremely important to them, which I appreciate.

The action is decent but not extremely exciting. There wasn’t any more world building than the first book offered, so that’s a little bit of a downer for me, but not enough to vote it down.

I look forward to what’s going to come next in the series.

I’m enjoying the series so far but this isn’t my favorite. I read the novella prequel first which I enjoyed much more. Now on the second book in the series I’m finding out why this first one disappointed me a bit… it’s the leads. I didn’t enjoy Daz very much… and Frankie was kind of annoying at times. But there was good build up and world building which I appreciate. The sex is hot as well, gotta love that. I will say that the Drixonians are kinda cliche… like they’re basically giant talking sex toys. It sounds like that’d be enjoyable but still, can definitely tell their men written by a woman in need of better men lol

Main point, get through this one to get to the rest of the series.

These two made a great couple, very interesting to read about. I especially like Reba, who has some trauma and her response to things can be a little extreme because of it.

The action was great and I enjoyed the surprises that popped up, made me want to keep reading.

Lots of typos though which are annoying to have to weed through. I don’t usually expect that many from published works.

I adored this one! I love Sax’s character a lot more than I did Daz, plus Val is a real beast!

The suspense in this one really sold everything. Even though I logically knew that the two of them would be fine, I still felt nervous that they weren’t going to actually make it out! The escape was great, suspenseful and action packed, and everything to follow carried the same intense energy.

The sex scenes were hot as fuck, I just adore Sax. He’s aggressive and dominant but very caring as well, love it. The fact that he seems so in touch with his emotions is nice, considering how all his time as a prisoner could have really warped his personality.

Val makes a compelling lead for this one. Her personality is consistent and she’s someone you really want to root for. I love how even though she battles with anxiety, she still has a very strong and intelligent spirit, especially when pushed. She’s the gal I’d want to be in her situation because she handled herself really well.

Great read! Now on to the next one!

While I really enjoyed this one, I won’t say it’s perfect.

Drak and Miranda make a lovely pair, loved watching all of their interactions. She’s so gentle with him while he’s still in such a fragile state but as soon as he’s able to take her fire she’s actually willing to give it to him. I liked that a lot because I didn’t want to see her stubborn and bossy and independent nature go completely silent with a mate.

The only thing that made this kind of lack was the fact that… well I’ve seen it done better. Ice Planet Barbarians already had a “wild man you can’t talk finds mate and takes her away” story and it was done better than this one. That aspect at least. I admit that the stuff about Drak’s banishment and revenge and such was interesting, made up for the boring bits.

This one was really cute but it felt kinda… short? I don’t know, maybe I just got through it really fast because I quite liked it. I had been looking forward to Gar’s book and was in no way disappointed with the result.

Naomi is a wonderful compliment to Gar, they both are very different but similar in the sense that they seek out love and affection. No matter how hard Gar is, no matter have stern, you can tell he desperately wants to be loved and be able to love someone. He just doesn’t believe he deserves that gift.

All the new info was cool, I’m looking forward to the oncoming action! Oddly enough, considering Gar’s aggressive personality, this one focuses more on emotions rather than action which was a nice change of pace. Though I admit I love myself some action so I’m excited to read the next installment.

Well that one was great! I’m partial to the more kinky ones myself and this one definitely delivered.

All the action was great and I’m looking forward to what comes next in this world. Also the Kaluma seen so interesting that I’m half tempted to skip to their series.

A fantastic conclusion to this series! I couldn’t have asked for better. Justine and Nero are one of my favorite couples now and everything they went through just tore my heart out.

Romance was top notch
Action was top notch
Conclusion was top notch

Even now it lead into the next series was really great and I’m looking forward to starting that one up with Rexor’s book.

A really great start to this spin off series. Rexor is an interesting character that I was looking forward to seeing and learning about after his mentions in the original Drix series. Daisy makes a great match for him with her positive attitude and trusting nature. The introduction of the other fellas in this series was nice and I’m especially looking forward to reading about Fenix’s story because he seems so sweet.

The Rage aspect of this story was a little… boring? It felt played out I guess, like I’ve seen that before. But oh well, the romance was what mattered and that was really sweet.
