Meh, it took me months to finish because I never cared about anyone besides Patroclus and Achilles, and well... I should have just stopped reading when they were happy on their mountain.

Amazing sequel to one of my favorite books I read this year!
I thought this series was being set up for a trilogy but now that I've finished Shadow Baron it seems like this world is just getting started!
I enjoyed getting more perspective from Anahid and her story though dark was very adventurous and had me on the edge of my seat many times.
Zagiri's storyline in this book was fun as well although I think in comparison to Siyon and Anahid, hers felt the most meh to me. The biggest twist was that
Balian had been lying to them the entire time, but since they hadn't really gotten together it felt kind of pointless, Siyon ended up feeling more betrayed but even he seemed okay with the betrayal. I wanted more drama with them, although it happened in the end so maybe we'll see that in the next book.
Fallen Laxmi?!?!? I didn't see that coming and I loooooved Laxmi's character throughout this book and can't wait to see her as some kind of badass seductive fallen harpy flower or flower guard.

Alright, now what I didn't love. The story was amazing and much like the first book most of it was built up for a big final event and WOW what an event! But it felt rushed this time, especially since there was virtually no wrap-up. Everything is so up in the air which is to be expected but I think it just needed more.

Now what I really didn't like.
Huge lack of Izmirlian/Siyon, it was all wanting and longing and mysterious?? It made me feel like the happy ever after is not going to happen at all for them, which leaves me gutted. I loved their relationship in Notorious Sorcerer and maybe it's my bleeding heart but I was really hoping for more Siyon/Izmirlian. And all the scenes of Siyon being sad and missing him????? I have them tabbed in my book because they were ripping my heart out. We did get that last scene but come on! And Siyon has no love interest in the meantime. Justice for Siyon's heart :(

That said, loved and I'm excited for the next book!

I devoured the Big Bad Wolf series and was so happy to find out there was more! I admit at first I was dissapointed that I wasn't getting more Dayton and Park, because after 5 books I really fell in love with the pair. But I've quickly found a place in my werewolf romance heart for Julien and of course Eli. This new series has the same overall vibe of the original, mystery, emotion, trauma, and a lovely romance guiding you along the way. I enjoyed it very much, can't wait for more from Adhara!

A very unique, strange story. There were times I thought I didn't like it at all but by the end I loved it for what it was.
