Wanted to enjoy it but the novel was full of boring, predictable tropes and stereotypes. I skimmed the lore and history to try to enjoy the relationship between the characters but found the lack of progress in their communication to be boring as well.
Might give it another try later, but that'll be a struggle when I didn't enjoy the world itself.

Boring as hell. The "girls can't be jousters" conflict is tiring and overused after 2 books.

Good, but not as fun as the first. The pacing felt off, and like the author tried to cram too many details into a too small novel. The ending felt rushed, lackluster, and surprisingly quick with no discussion of the aftermath.
I enjoyed seeing my favorite characters again, and loved any banter or interactions between them and showed how they changed over the years, esp with the conversations between Ward and Oreg in comparison to the first book.
Was not a fan of (character/plot spoilers)a gay character being the villain, a rapist, and a pedophile, though I enjoyed the confrontation between him and Garranon near the end.
Wish there was more to the series if only to explore more of the world building, esp with the different races, as well as the future of these characters.
