I’ve never felt this dull after reading a book in one sitting. I’ve also never felt this seen.
For years I’ve felt ashamed by my reaction after my attack. For years I thought that it made me less a survivors because I didn’t react like everyone I saw on TV. Our attackers both have other survivors, but I wished my family would’ve believed me when I told years later.
I was Eden, I am Eden, who successfully broke out of the cycle and am in the happiest and healthiest relationship I’ve never even dreamed about.
This book is heart shattering, but absolutely perfect.
This is a beautiful debut novel, and I am very thankful it exists. I am confident that it healed at least some parts of me.
