it's hard to say that i "love" a book breaking down as many aspects of what it is to be autistic as it can - but this was a very enjoyable piece of nonfiction to read (because i was hyperfixating on learning about autism when i read it? probably.) i don't know if i'm autistic or not. i don't know if i'll ever have the disposable income to get tested. i don't know if, even if i do have that money at some point, if i would get a diagnosis since, presumably, if i had the money to get myself tested, my autism wouldn't be "interfering" with my life enough to need one [which is part of the diagnostic criteria.] what i do know is, i identify very closely with a lot of accounts of other people's experiences with their autism, and recommendations for self- accommodations have made my life a little easier. this book was part of my journey in accepting that i operate differently from other people and that that's okay. i liked it a lot.
