Baggage. No one ever breaks free from it. Everyone has to figure out how to go on living, to be decent, in spite of it.
despite it being well written, this story—especially the plot—was not what i was expecting, especially based on the blurb we were provided. though the author is definitely talented with her writing and kept me captivated throughout the entire book.
like wow… the protagonist was a hot mess. deeply flawed and complicated character. this book touched on a subject i have heard little about: love addiction, something that the character lives with. the way it was talked about throughout the story felt bold, but careful and impactful. that being said, i’m still a little bit confused as to what the whole point of the story was? it felt mostly like (beautiful and frustrating) ramblings and the protagonist’s constant self-destructive behaviors, with barely any self-improvement, left me feeling exhausted and sad for her in the end.
