MOOD: adventurous, emotional, tense
TROPES: fated mates, forced proximity,
GENRES: Fantasy, lbgtq+ romance,
FAV QUOTE: Izra looked at him, and before any bit of logic could stop his heart, he said, "You are far too pretty to hate, Oren Radek." Oren flushed. "And you are far to o pretty to be saying those things to a man like me."

MAIN CHARACTERS: Izra Dziove and Oren Radek

This is the first Seth Haddon book that I've read - I did not read Reforged but wanted to read Reborn before Reclaimed (I don't think I'll have time to read both).

THE GOOD: I really enjoyed this story. There were so many plot elements that are incorporated into it - it should feel overwhelming but it doesn't - there's mystery, mythology, romance, and the possible breakdown of an empire. As far as the romance goes, it has also been some time since I've read a story with a basis around fated mates where there was a struggle or learning curve for one of those involved...it was refreshing. There was a wealth of information - with characters, locations, and history too. The timeline can feel a little iffy, especially given the travel, but overall it's a really good read and I look forward to more. I also forgot there was a map at the beginning of the book - which would have helped me with the travel.
THE NEUTRAL: I'm just getting back into Fantasy, so keeping track of the numerous gods and locations is difficult. This is definitely more of a me problem than a writing problem. There is a Glossary of Terms and Names at the end of the book but I didn't know that while reading.
THE MEH: For the length of the book, this took be a really long time to read

CW: violence, death, sexual content
DISCLAIMER: I received an advance review copy. This is my honest review.
