Alien Protector's Stars by Melissa Emerald, Melissa Emerald

Not as strong as the first book, but still good.
The pacing of everything was done well, and I feel like we’re getting somewhere with the lore at least a little. I’m uber curious about more of this world’s history and lore so maybe I felt like it was lacking, but there were little tastes. Alana isn’t that interested in that kind of stuff though so it makes sense it wasn’t a focus of this book. Instead our focus was on the often irritating dynamic of the two leads, Alana’s pregnancy, and the search for the rest of the women.
What irritates me about their dynamic is probably something others would enjoy, but I just can’t stand how they fight and never actually talk over things afterwards. They purposefully avoid communicating properly… even when they’re beyond the hating each other part. It just sours everything for me. The last 50% of the book is good, they talk a little… and there are some really sweet and cute moments between them. I just feel like the issues they had at the beginning were never truly resolved, more like horniness just made them forget those issues or not care about them anymore. I’m a sucker for good communication so I’d rather that than a spicy scene any day.
Worth the read, definitely going to read the next book! I hope more come out soon as well since this series has only three books so far.
