3⭐️ 3🌶️(3 because of Monster parts but really a 2 for me)
MOOD: adventurous, sad, tense
TROPES: second chance, fated mates
GENRES: historical romance, monster romance

MAIN CHARACTERS: Sabrina (Kraken) and Captian Teeth (Human)

This one wasn't for me. It could be that I didn't realize it was part of a larger established Universe so I didn't know Teeth had already been introduced and this was a book that fans were waiting for but I'm not sure. I was really looking forward to a female Kraken; I enjoy Kraken/Monster stories with some of my favs being Stalked by the Kraken, Tentacles & Triatholons, and The Sea Monster's Mate. I bring this up so you know that this isn't unfamiliar territory for me.

That being said. What was disappointing was the story arc. I really wanted to see a strong FMC, especially a Kraken and that's just not what was delivered. Combined with the oddly too specific Octupus anatomy sex scenes and the fairly abrupt ending I was just left wanting more. By no means was this bad and I think if you are already a fan of this author and this world then you will enjoy it but I think I'll sit this one out.

Also, I finally discovered some descriptive words that don't do it for me which is a feat in and of itself cause I will read anything once, but dairy & marriage box/pocket apparently are a hard no for me :D

CW: provided by the author: kidnapping, sexual assault, exploitation in an old-timey sideshow
