Audrey Bunny by Angie Smith

I adored this book so much! Even before I began reading it, I could not help but notice the attractiveness of the cover and the illustrations. If I could sum up how I felt about just that, I would say that my heart was warmed.

As I sit here writing this review, I can remember having to make myself wait to read the book because I wanted to make a point of getting the first reaction of my kids. Both they and I were glued to the pages. Glued! When I tell you that they sat and listened intently, I mean it. My son literally shifted positions and turned his whole body toward the book, leaning, quite honestly, into the pages. My daughter wanted to go back and hear certain parts that I had just read over again. And I, well, I could barely wait to see what was going to happen in Audrey Bunny's story.

Now, as for the content...lovely, lovely, sweet and then lovely again. The visual and written lessons were totally in sync. The theme of unconditional love was present in a big way.Higher level messages on imperfections, insecurity, shame, and acceptance were also there.

I appreciated the Scripture and helpful tips listed at the end of the book. I think parents will respond positively to its inclusion.

This book is by far one of the best children's books I have read. It would easily be the kind of book that could be read time after time. I can imagine having such rich discussions with my children, no matter how they age.

Excellent! I would unwaveringly recommend this book.
