The Chalk Pit by Elly Griffiths

Did not finish book.
Clumsily written, awkwardly paced. Most of the plot seems to be people going into rooms together, having boring conversations, and then leaving again. Nobody has an opinion or personality without it being presented in the most blatant and straightforward way possible.

It is possible to write by-the-numbers crime in a way that's actually good. I know, because I've read it. Unfortunately, I don't think this books achieves it.
