Once again, just a few thoughts: Wings of Fire continues to deliver on all my favourite fronts, this time throwing in a bit of mystery and assassins for good measure. The best thing about it—I couldn’t remember how the mystery was solved from my first read-through, so it was like reading it for the first time! Though I personally disliked how the group was separated for what seemed so long in The Lost Heir, it made sense for Tsunami to go off on her in the Sea Kingdom and find her place there; and I’m sure this will continue in the next few books, each dragonet having some time to themselves as they meet their tribe. I loved how aspects of a larger plot are unfolding in the background as the dragonets essentially go about their own devices, with hints of perhaps some meddling with the prophecy … ? Again, I remember just about nothing from that first read when I was ten except that I loved Wings of Fire, and so far I have not been disappointed in the slightest in that regard, and am really enjoying this series.
