Brimstone by Douglas Preston, Lincoln Child

4.5-5 stars
Okay, this is getting really good! I thought that this book showed a little bit more of Pendergast's action hero side, although he was never a wimp. But with him crawling through laser beams using a cigarette, and sneaking around creepy castles--well, it was just plain cool. I have been trying to read this series slowly, so I can savor it more, but after finishing this one, I can't wait to read the next one. Without revealing any spoilers, you do end up with a cliffhanger of sorts. Agosto is also back and I can't wait to see what he does with his life next. Smithback was not in this book (except in reference), but I am willing to bet the next installment will have him and Harriman in all sorts of conflict! If you haven't read this series yet and you're a fan of mystery, I don't know what you've been waiting for! Go back to the beginning and get started. :D
