The highlight of this book was the HUMOR! Both Gen, our prickly badass female lead, and Kanuz, her dumb but affectionate and beautiful alien prince, are riots! They make for a great couple in that regard.

The plot of this book felt much less serious than the first one, making it an easy one to get through and a nice treat. While there was suspense in wondering how they’d find their way out of a sacred temple/trial/treasure hunt, it was mostly fun and games and flirting.

The spice wasn’t my favorite, a little vanilla for me personally, but it was still very well written. Kanuz is a dirty talker which his mate absolutely adores.

Gen also has some really great scenes with the other human women, endearing me to them more and making me look forward to their books. I also fell more in love with Niki, she had a great dynamic with Gen. All of these ladies are loyal to each other and will do anything for each other, so it’s great seeing them really act like a team.

Great read! Loving this series so far!
