The Orphan of Salt Winds by Elizabeth Brooks
5.0
An absolutely beautiful novel I can only think to describe as a narration on the complex peculiarities (and, in some cases, even the worst depravaties) of mankind. This book has haunted me from start to finish, and I mean that truly as a complement. I feel simultaneously fulfilled and devastated by the ending and am, frankly, not quite sure what to do with myself having now gone on such a journey with the characters. Changing my rating from 4 to 5 stars if for nothing else than the emotional toll this tale has taken on me.
