Virgo's Prize by Ella Blake

4.0

I’d forgotten how much I enjoy Ella Blake’s writing style, but she seriously never disappoints me. The best part for me is the descriptions of the aliens and the environment. Everything feels very alien without it being obnoxiously obvious, something I appreciate in this genre.

The romance was sweet, while it was fast, it works well for these two. We get to know the character pretty well before there is any romance to speak of, but there is an almost immediate attraction. Thankfully that attraction doesn’t cloud their judgement as the first priority in the story was the main plot of the Heveian’s illness. Hoc was a delightful side character and I’m glad he’ll be in the future books for this series, every time he was on screen I was happy about it. Good side characters can really make a story just a step above.

Though this was a prequel, I think it’s important to read before starting the full series.
