One Night with a Cowboy: Includes a Bonus Novella by Sara Richardson

5.0

Wes Harding is a seasoned rodeo cowboy with a reckless past and a reputation for being unreliable. But when his sister Jane needed help with a veteran’s retreat, Wes is ready, willing, and able to redeem himself of his unreliable reputation. Little does Wes know that the co-leader of the retreat is a woman that he stood up on a date many years ago.

Thea Davis, a recent widow, is a struggling mother of two children. Even with her hectic schedule, Thea still manages to squeeze in organizing the veteran’s retreat event every year. Unbeknownst to Thea, this year will be different — different because the co-leader of the event isn’t Jane.

The story unfolds through Wes’ and Thea’s points of view. Both Wes and Thea each have their own share of excess baggage that must be overcome. Wes with his feeling of guilt at abandoning his family, and Thea bearing the guilt of requesting a divorce just before the sudden death of her husband in Afghanistan. Can both Wes and Thea overcome their guilt and acknowledge that their heart palpitations and butterfly stomachs are merely the manifestations of their attraction to each other?

One Night with a Cowboy is a heartwarming western romance that contains all the elements that a romance novel should have. Lovable characters abound, and with a backdrop of High Country Texas, how can you not love such a romantic setting. Five loving stars.

I received a finished paperback copy of the novel from Forever. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
