Knot Her Shot by Ari Wright

Another change of pace for me but one I’m so happy for! I read this on a random whim and just loved it. While I debated on reading the first book first, as one does, I decided what I really wanted from an alpha omega story was a sweet sweet omega who just wanted to be loved… and that’s exactly what this book is. It states in the beginning that you can read this as a stand alone and I find that to be mostly true, as I didn’t feel like I was missing much, but the characters from the first book do show up a lot in this one so take that as you will.

Remi is remarkably relatable, easy to love and root for, and what made this story so good. That’s sort of the point though, she balances out these men is the perfect way, as they come to find out and appreciate. Watching her struggle through her insecurities, ones I myself have struggled with, was very heartwarming. Fighting your people pleasing tendencies is tough, even without all the trauma that she has that makes worse.

The men are each very distinct and needed for this story to work, they compliment each other beautifully and create a perfect pack for their girl. Damon is my favorite, he’s just such a sweetie and watching him overcome his struggles while diving into the relationship head first was great. I can’t say he put in the most work, but he definitely put in the most effort right at the beginning and kept that momentum throughout the book. He comes off as an idiot, but he’s very smart in his own way which Remi picks up on quick and loves.

The step brothers are their own can of worms and contrast each other nicely. Cassian gets to start off strong as her childhood friend and crush, but that works perfectly for them as their trust is immediate. Most of us effort goes to just accepting that he really does have her, and finding himself good enough. She makes him feel comfortable pretty easily though, which was so nice to see.

Smith… I really couldn’t stand him at the beginning. He does get there though, and seeing him set his pride aside to do right by Remi was enjoyable. I can’t say I completely forgive him for his behavior, but I appreciate where he ends up with her at his side and supporting him. A good man can be made great with the support of someone who loves him.

Fun read, will probably read the next one if I get a hankering for this dynamic again.
