I don't really know how to rate this because I don't really know what I feel. On one hand, I got through this really quick and I was invested the whole time. I like the dynamic between Kelly and Nick a lot and I'm a sucker for military romances.  I think it worked out that this was actually pretty short even though I usually don't like short books. I think this was just emotional enough to be touching but not so emotional that I was left unsatisfied by the ending. 

That being said I feel like this has to be a spin-off of another series because I was confused for a lot of the time. This is the first book in the series but I feel like there are too many events where we aren't given enough information for it really make sense which makes me think that this has to be an original series where the Kelly and Nick are background characters with their own side plot that is expanded here and those events happened on screen in that series. 

 I also deeply deeply dislike the casual abuse of both prescription drugs and weed. I hate reading about that and about characters who use drugs recreationally in any capacity. I also disliked the use of derogatory words like "pussy". Just say wimp.
