This is so well done for a first book in the series! I really like the author’s writing style, very descriptive but moves at a perfect pace, not too slow or fast. There were also a good handful of words I had to look up which I find enjoyable, I love learning new words.

For me the best part of the book is the world building and that the two leads had to go on an “adventure” of sorts when they crash land and have to trek through the jungle. When a couple goes through a survivalist situation it really brings out things about their characters that would be harder to show. The action doesn’t stop here though as there’s an over arching plot for future books to deal with, also something I appreciate a lot.

My only complaint is that while the couple are sweet and I end up rooting for them, it feels like they almost never talk to each other. I get that the ml is meant to be a strong silent type, but they needed to communicate more before the “I love you”s to make that moment feel more genuine. Spicy scenes are great though, not too spicy but just written well and feel appropriate for this couple.

Will definitely be reading more!
