Red at the Bone by Jacqueline Woodson
5.0
I usually don’t write reviews, but this book amazed me. I’m the type of person that looks down on books less than 400 pages. “How could you complete a well written story in only a couple hundred pages?” Well this book with less than 200 pages blew me away. It managed to go through several different characters POV’s and several different timelines without confusing me in the slightest. The writing in this book was so phenomenal that I’ve already named Jacqueline Woodson one of my favorite writers, solely on this book alone. This is the most beautiful book I’ve ever read. 10/10 stars.
