I loved this book. Favourite read of the year so far. There’s a lot happening in every chapter, and the characters are so well written and don’t shy away from their flaws; they know them and exploit them for their own benefit. Love the trope of two character’s archs crossing and developing parallel to each other, and it is so well done here. Zhu and Ouyang are so interesting I could read about their dubious -but justified- actions all day. Can’t wait for book #2 to see how their journeys continue.
