The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna by Juliet Grames
3.0
A sprawling story that leaves out much that I would have thought important to its narrative. We end up knowing frustratingly little about the inner lives and feelings of the main characters, since everything is incompletely channelled through the perception of Stella. Even what we are told about her doesn't seem to match 'reality', and she remains very much an enigma.
Pleasant to read and fairly engaging but I'm left wondering what point the author was trying to make
