A Skinful of Shadows by Frances Hardinge
5.0
6/5 stars :)
I've read one of Frances Hardinge's books before (A Face Like Glass) and although I enjoyed her writing style for some reason the story just didn't seen to fit with me. So when I saw this book in the store I was hesitant to pick it up. However when I opened it to read, I saw to my surprise that it was a signed copy! I just had to get it now 😂.
I loved nearly everything about A Skinfull of Shadows, Makepeace our main character matures and grows as the story develops into a character that I can deeply relate to. The whole basis of her family heritage was so unique and refreshing and it brought new characters to the table in such interesting way (I loved the Doctor :)).
However most of all I loved the connection between Bear and Makepeace. It was so beautifully done and really gave me a sense of peace when I read about it. Honestly I would recommend this book to so many, I've just fallen in love with it.
The stunning cover, the green book, the dyed pages, the fact it's signed, the imagery, the writing style, the characters... LOVE IT
*THANK YOU FRANCES HARDINGE*
