The Ultimate SPAM Cookbook: 100+ Quick and Delicious Recipes from Traditional to Gourmet by The Hormel Kitchen

5.0

Growing up in Hawaii, SPAM was a staple in practically every household. SPAM was convenient, easy to prepare, and it was a good source of protein. Back then, SPAM was only offered in the classic flavor. There was no such thing as teriyaki, bacon, or jalapeƱo flavors. These days, there are a variety of flavors, including chorizo, and for the health concious, low sodium and lite.

The Ultimate SPAM Cookbook is more than a cookbook, It is a book filled with the history and manufacturing process of SPAM. Did you know that it takes about three hours to cook and cool a can of SPAM, and that the meat is cooked in the can? Filled with interesting facts and figures, I was just amazed at the amount of information contained in this book. Not only did I learn a lot about SPAM, I also got to try some delicious recipes that used a flavor other than the classic. I got to try teriyaki and bacon. What a treat it was to have the SPAM LT (using bacon flavor,) SPAM Fried Rice (using teriyaki flavor,) and the Toasted SPAM and Cheese Sandwiches.

The Ultimate SPAM Cookbook is a must have for the SPAM lover in your life. I just have to get a copy for my brother-in-law! Five stars.

I received a digital copy of the book from Fox Chapel Publishing. The review herein is completely my own and contains my honest thoughts and opinions.
