I have fallen down some pretty interesting reading holes this year, and the Shifter World is one of them, but I didn’t get as obsessed as I did this one. This book introduces us to this universe where different types of magical people go to school together. We learn about the other realms when Bexley gets to the school, but since she lives with a dragon shifter, she is pretty always with them, so we know the most about the realm. I believe this book is the start of a series that’s actually a part of the bigger universe, and that universe is connected by this college, I think. I honestly need to look into it more. Still, I’m a little salty because I’ve been left on a massive cliffhanger and am unsure when we will get answers. Still, all three books in this series end on a cliffhanger. I feel like they just keep getting bigger and bigger, and this one is actually really tame since we are just getting introduced to this world. Bex is one of my all-time favorite characters, and I couldn’t get enough of her. I’m curious how she starts remembering her past, even though it is all so sad.\
2025 Thoughts
I've been really nervous about picking up this one. I read it back in the fall/winter of 2023 and I loved this book, and the other 2 books that were out at the time. Each book does end in a cliffhanger, and I was desperate for the last book, but it kept getting pushed back and back. It did eventually come out last July but by then I was a little salty because I knew I was going to need to reread the first three books, I wasn't really in a reading mood, and I just was not in a rereading mood. Anyway I finally decided to pick the first book up and I was so nervous because I wasn't sure I was going to love it like I did the first time. However, that ended up not even being an issue. I had a hard time putting it down. It was so good, and I loved the story. I love Bexley and the guys and the mystery surrounding them. I cannot wait to get into the next book and hopefully love that reread just as much. I do read/note things a lot compared to back when I first read these books so it was just fun to revisit those old thoughts I had and cannot wait to see how the rest of Bexley's story goes.
