I was initially hesitant to start a book on Viv’s story before Legends and Lattes took place. I’d already gotten attached to Tandri, Thimble, Hemington, Cal, etc and Viv’s character in L&L. I was especially hesitant because of the romantic aspect of the book knowing it would ultimately lead no where.
However , I was pleasantly surprised by the heart this story has. The characters are far more rambunctious and crazy in comparison to L&L but I think that fits Viv’s lifestyle before she retired.
Viv in this book is younger, wilder, fiercer, and just tad bit more naive. But I think it’s so interesting reading about a younger Viv.
This book gave a bit of adventure in the cozier world Travis Baldree had created.
