The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur
2.0
I understand the importance of the story being told. I understand the need for it to be heard.
This story just wasn’t for me, and that’s fine.
Personally, I prefer more flowy and flowery poetry, words with real rhythm. While there were a few I enjoyed just for the context, and even fewer for the word choice, most were written in a style I’m not a fan of. When it’s literally just like listening to someone talk without thinking… it gets boring and I end up not caring about what is being said. There were plenty of moments where I thought to myself “is this even considered poetry?”
