Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James
Did not finish book.
So badly-written I couldn't finish it. I was really looking forward to enjoying this but I had to stop at page 69.
This is a real betrayal of the spirit of Austen by what I was expecting (due to her renown, perhaps mistakenly) to be a decent author. Such drivel would never have got published if it had come from an unknown author. it's like those self-published e-books they do these days. Clumsy, ponderous, inelegant. In a word: shocking.
No wonder James feels the need to apologies to Austen in the introduction!
