I'm generally not a massive fan of poetry in books, and here it felt pointless and also poorly written. The book itself I found slightly repetitive (which is a feat considering how short it is) and because of the odd dialogue and choice to make this half a story and half a poem meant the characters were underdeveloped mouthpieces for waxing poetic that at no point felt like real people to me.
I'm left wondering why I bothered.
