At least that's what I'm trying to convince myself of whenever i think that my obituary will say "Sexy Wife, Awesome Friend, Okay Daughter. Died squished under her pile of unread books."
I've done a challenge to tackle my TBR last year and it worked out pretty great! I shaved around 30 books off my 200 boxed up owned books (I'm not joking, I counted them), so if I keep this up, in about 5 years I'll finally be able to go into a bookstore and just pick something out without feeling the death stare of my owned books burrowing into the back of my neck.
If the prompt doesn't match, don't use it as an excuse, just add something in there.
And if there's nobody joining in, well, at least I have each other.
Also, as a tip, I tested this last year and it worked wonders for me. I restricted myself to buying only one book each month. Books received as gifts don't count. This was good for my finances and my to-read stack, so if you think you can get into this, I recommend it 100%.
