A sci-fi domestic thriller? Yes please! The cloning plot was so interesting to me, I loved all the science involved. I also really enjoyed the moral/ethical struggle that Evelyn went through over the course of the book. The idea of having an exact copy of yourself, with all of your memories but a different personality is so intriguing, especially when she first considers Martine an object. I did find Evelyn's personality hard to connect to, but I still found her interesting. I was amazed to realize that Sarah Gailey is the same author that wrote Upright Women Wanted, as I feel like this book was much better developed. The characters felt fully fleshed out, their development seems more realistic, and the settings- especially the lab- were much better written than her previous novel.

This book is a wild ride of clones and ethics and trauma. The main characters are all pretty shitty people but they're always doing interesting things. Well worth the read.

An interesting story about human cloning and the questions that come with it.
