communist, buddhist, scientific, spiritual, evolutionary, epiphenominal exploration of ourselves and a dream of what could be. What is astounding is that it could have been published in 2014 and would have similar impact and relevance today as it has had since 1937 - except that the style is definitely early 20th century.

Star Maker is a shining example of self absorbed creativity without benefit of a disciplined and skilled editor.

A good story with lots of traditions of Chinese New Year embedded. A great addition for the library. Good characters, especially main character and Uncle.

This is at its best at the beginning and end, when it paints in impossibly grand, beautifully poetic strokes. The middle sections feel more like watching one of those IMAX ~future~ documentaries. Undeniably brilliant; it's hard to think of any other teller of tales that actually *goes there* and furthermore, offers up a truly thoughtful answer.
